As I was reading the newspaper, I realized that the news are full of negative issues communicated using strong words and phrases. Nowadays the media are therefore trying to portray this world using only blue and gray as colors. War, bomb, death, suicide, terror; those are some of the words that clearly describe how the world is collapsing. This made me think about how different it would be if the news were full of funny phrases. I therefore cut phrases from various newspapers and turned them into jokes by combining different words or phrases together. People with a serious face expression in this work create a contrast between the funny phrases they show the audience, emphasizing the seriousness of this corrupted world with no hope. The purpose of this piece is to show in a satiric way the reality of how dull our society has become.
